Our client is a uniquely positioned gold exploration and development company located in the highly productive eastern goldfields region of WA. They are currently in need of a Underground Geo-Technician for an immediate start.
Job Requirements:
- Previous relevant grade control core-yard experience is highly regarded;
- Previous underground or pit technician experience is desirable;
- Previous diamond core sampling and processing;
- Ability to work unsupervised and must have a strong safety focus;
- Current C class manual driver’s license;
- Current High Risk Work License (Forklift truck);
- Current First Aid certificate.
Position Duties:
- Day-to-day coreyard work, including: core jig-sawing, metre marking, orientation marking, core photography, density measurements if required, magnetic susceptibility readings if required, pXRF readings if required, core cutting or whole core sampling;
- Speak up and have input into the morning geology catch-up meeting for core preparation and core sampling targets each shift, to complement the core logging target;
- Communicate regularly with the Senior Geology Technician and Project and Senior Geologists on daily tasks and prioritizing work to ensure timely delivery of geology models;
- Liaison with the underground drillers, and escalate any core quality issues immediately to the Senior Geology Technician and Drilling Supervisor;
- Maintain high QAQC standards for drill core processing operations which include mark-up, orientation, photography, RQD, densities, sampling etc.
