Our client, a successful Australian gold producer, is looking for an Underground Geotechnical Engineer to join their team at one of their Western Australian gold operations.
Requirements:
- Relevant Tertiary Qualifications in Mining, Geology or Civil Engineering;
- Demonstrated experience and/or knowledge of geomechanics principles;
- Ability to work within a team environment and autonomously;
- Proficient in using Rocscience, or similar software.
Position Duties:
- Monitor and track progress of mapping to ensure timely recording of geotechnical data;
- Geotechnical mapping and core logging;
- Conduct geotechnical stability assessments and create brief technical reports;
- Assist with geotechnical investigations, analysis and information gathering as required;
- Assist in reviewing, developing and implementing ground support systems;
- Train Mine Geologists in geotechnical data collection, standards and database management.
