Our client is currently seeking a Senior Underground Mine Surveyor to join their largest underground gold operation. Reporting to the Alternate Underground Manager providing leadership to the Surveying Team.
Requirements:
- Diploma of Surveying or Bachelor of Surveying;
- Authorised Mine Surveyors Certificate Grade 1;
- Competent using Deswik;
- Strong report writing skills.
Position Duties:
- Liaise with all relevant personnel for their survey requirements on a daily basis;
- Lay out and maintain survey reference marks underground for control of drive development and
stripping, stopping, service holes, rises and diamond drilling programs; - Regular surveys to control major underground features (e.g. decline dimensions, gradient and directions, stope drive levels and orientations and long hole stopes);
- Assist the Production Engineers in mine design and drawing of mine instructions for issue to the underground mining personnel;
- Provision of accurate survey control network;
- Survey of and computations for ore and waste volumes and stockpiles;
- Compile and update mine plans as necessary;
- Oversee surface survey requirements;
- Provide accurate end of month figures to Engineers and Geologists;
- Provide regular and timely reports to the Underground Manager on the progress of work undertaken;
- Compile accurate monthly records for all underground workings with advance and stripping progress, surface excavations and ore stockpiles;
- Maintain accurate site plans of surface and underground infrastructure.
