Our client, a thriving multi-operational mineral resource firm, is actively searching for an Underground Mine Planning Engineer to join their gold mining operation below the surface.
Requirements:
- Bachelor in Mining Engineering;
- Competent using Deswik;
- Completion of 12 months underground practical experience.
Position Duties:
- Convert the long-term plan into a productive, safe and executable mid-term, short-term and two weekly schedule;
- Produce cost effective and practical designs for underground lateral, decline and vertical development, and project plans;
- Champion the short-term plan and take corrective action to make up for any shortfall against targets and communicate risks to plan to management;
- Provide technical assistance to Contracting company for operational requirements;
- Assist with training and relief coverage of production engineers;
- Conduct routine inspections of the underground to identify and rectify any issues that may impact achievement of the weekly and monthly schedules and schedule project work required.
Experience
3+ years hard rock mining engineer experience.
