MES is seeking an experienced Project Geologist to work for our client, a growing WA gold producer.
The successful candidate will join the well-established successful Western Australian owner-operator mine with sustained production history.
Requirements:
- Tertiary qualification in geology or related discipline;
- Underground production and drilling experience in Archaean Greenstone gold deposits;
- Exposure to contract mining environments;
- Sound geological interpretive and structural geology skills;
- Knowledge of Vulcan, Leapfrog, Deswik and Microsoft Office computing software;
- Good communication and interpersonal skills;
- Strong commitment to safety;
- C Class Drivers Licence (manual).
Position Duties:
- Grade control including drilling, ore mark-ups, mapping/sampling, and the efficient extraction of ore;
- Create near-mine exploration targets utilising all data available (geochemical, geophysics, database);
- Assist the Senior Mine Geologist with ensuring accurate reconciliation of tonnages, grade and contained metal from the mine to the mill;
- Supervise drilling/mining contractors where applicable;
- Utilise face/backs/wall mapping and diamond drillhole trace plots.
