KD14037 - Underground Mine Planning & Scheduling Engineers

Our base metals client is ramping up and on their behalf, we are currently seeking Underground Mine Planning & Scheduling Engineers for an exciting and challenging role where you will design, plan & schedule underground level layouts, production stoping, other vertical openings & mine infrastructure. The mine has a significant 10yr+ mine life.

Some of what we are looking for:

  • Excellent communication skills with a flexible and adaptable outlook;
  • Bachelor’s Degree in mining engineering or comparable academic qualifications;
  • Comfortable in both the underground and mine office environment;
  • Solid Deswik mining software skills;
  • Demonstrated expertise with mine scheduling and in particular 12-week scheduling processes;
  • Developed and mature mine design skills;
  • Experience with contractor mining optimising designs and processes to maximize value and safety.

About the role: 
  • Confidently undertake scheduling tasks primarily in the 12 week to 12 month (budget) space, with ability to support implementation planning (1-4 weeks) when required;
  • Produce cost effective and practical designs for underground lateral, decline and vertical development;
  • Produce cost effective and practical designs for underground lateral, decline and vertical development;
  • Produce production stope designs and documentation, including detailed stope economic analysis.
Experience: 
4+ yrs. experience in a mining environment, preferably with one year of hands-on underground experience in a mechanised underground mine across haulage, mine services, drilling and charging.
