MES is currently seeking a Resource Geologist for our client a gold production and exploration company.
Requirements:
- Tertiary qualifications in Geology
- Possess sound knowledge of mineral systems, especially orogenic gold
- Sound understanding of secondary mineralisation processes
- Conversant with GIS and 3D software packages (Leapfrog, Micromine, ArcGIS).
- Experience with geological logging and interpretation
- Familiar with open pit and underground operations
- Exercises sound business judgement
- Strong focus on safety and efficiency
- Excellent communication and report writing skills
Position Duties:
- Ensure work programs are carried out safely and efficiently
- Supervision and geological logging of resource definition drilling programs
- Data capture and loading, ensure all data is accurate and validated prior to incorporation into the database
- Report drill results or significant finds to management promptly
- Production of periodical internal and external technical reports as required
- Provide input to mineralisation delineation, resource assessment, and geological modelling
Experience
1-2 years' experience in a similar role (preferably with gold)
